I’m an engineering manager at TORC.ai in Stuttgart, Germany. Currently I lead two teams that work on creating virtual worlds using Neural Rendering and Generative Models and testing TORC’s perception stack in those. There couldn’t be a more thrilling experience for me than to actively develop the future of the automobile.
I have a PhD in engineering which I obtained at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz and the MRT Institute at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The subject of my thesis is “Deep Fusion of Camera and LiDaR” which focuses on LiDaR-Camera calibration as well as depth completion of sparse LiDaR data. You can obtain a digital or hard copy here. For more a list of my publications, have a look at the Publications section on this page or visit my Google Scholar page.
In my free time I spend most of the time with my two kids and wife, do sports (bouldering and snowboarding) and do educate myself with the latest and greatest trends in computer science and computer vision.
I also enjoy singing for the Wasting Foxes. We are a small Band that enjoys playing for friends and just have fun.
